Position Summary:

  • The Retail Manager assists in planning, administering, and directing all activities related to food services retail and catering operations assuring compliance with regulatory agencies, the policies and procedures of Sibley Memorial Hospital and the requirements of the customer.
  • Assists with menu development and management working collaboratively with JHHS Food and Culinary Services team.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of effective merchandizing, quality assessment of market place conditions, customer expectations, and product selection to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Develop customer relationships to maintain client satisfaction and assure the highest quality of service.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments of the hospital.

Full-time (40 hrs per week)

Education/ Experience

  • BS Degree in food services, hospitality, or related field.

  • Three to five years previous management experience in large-scale, high-volume food service operation preferred.

  • Required to obtain and maintain current Washington DC Food Protection Manager Certificate and ServSafe Certification or obtain the certification within 90 days.

Salary Range: Minimum $35.54/hour - Maximum $​​​​62.18/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
