Job Title: Equipment Operator
Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Equipment Operator to efficiently manage various heavy machinery, including forklifts, backhoes, and front-end loaders within our shipyard. The role involves moving mixed products, turning piles, and ensuring the preparation and segregation of organic mixes. Flexibility is essential, as duties may range from operating equipment to performing light cleanup tasks such as sweeping and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, backhoes, and front-end loaders.
• Move mixed products and turn piles in the shipyard.
• Ensure proper preparation and segregation of organic mixes.
• Handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Perform light cleanup tasks, including broom sweeping and cleaning equipment.

• Proficiency in operating backhoes, front-end loaders, and forklifts.
• Ability to handle materials up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in a non-climate controlled, dusty environment.
• 2-3 years of experience using backhoes, skid loaders, front-end loaders, and forklifts.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience preferred for higher compensation range.
• Comfortable working on feet for extended periods and climbing ladders.

Work Environment

The work environment is an industrial production facility that is non-climate controlled, often dusty and hot. Work is performed both inside the warehouse and outside in the shipping yard. This is a tobacco-free zone, and any tobacco use must occur off the property.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pacific Junction, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
