Job Title: Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist

Salary: DOE

Summary: We are seeking an Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist to ensure compliance with program funding development under management. This role involves the management of files and working closely with the Compliance Director to maintain and update reports for Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) lists, complete monthly reports, and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities


  • Work closely with on-site and corporate staff to ensure regulatory compliance with housing programs are met.
  • Review and approve all Move-In and Annual Recertifications under a variety of programs such as LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, Rural Development and Home.
  • Train personnel on preparing income certifications and re-certifications for Project Based Rental Assistance and/or Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.
  • Complete monthly project worksheets for HUD-Section 8 and Rural Development.
  • Collaborate with various departments to drive overall property performance through monitoring, reporting, communicating and tracking key indicators of financial and programmatic requirements.
  • Communicate directly with State Agency and Limited Partners concerning any matters pertaining to compliance, inspections and successful completion of annual audits.
  • Perform other duties in the areas of management and occupancy policies, as required to permit the smooth operation of each property assigned.


Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience with income certification procedures for assisted housing (Section 8, Section 515, Section 42).
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and others.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, HUD-Section 8, and Rural Development 515 regulations.
  • HCCP, C3P, and COS designations are highly desirable.
